Automotive Technician
An established independent automotive workshop in Petone, Lower Hutt is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join their busy team.
This is a varied role for a capable technician who enjoys getting stuck into all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
You’ll work across a broad range of vehicles, carrying out everything from routine servicing through to diagnostics, cambelts and general mechanical repairs.

About the Role
- General servicing and preventative maintenance
- Mechanical repairs across a variety of makes and models
- Diagnostic and fault-finding work
- Cambelt replacement and associated repairs
- Using tyre and workshop equipment
- Completing work to a high standard while maintaining good workshop safety
- WOF inspections, if you hold a current inspection authority
About You
- An NZQA Level 4 Automotive qualification or equivalent
- Solid automotive servicing and repair experience
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- A current NZ Driver Licence
- The ability to work confidently across a range of vehicles
- Good practical skills and a strong approach to workplace safety
- Welding experience would be advantageous
- A current WOF Inspection Authority would be a significant advantage
- Current New Zealand residency or valid NZ work rights
