Dealer Principal – Canterbury

Power Farming Canterbury, based in Rolleston, is looking for a decisive, people-focused Dealer Principal to lead a high-performing branch across sales, service, and parts.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll run the dealership like your own business, backed by the support, systems, and premium brands of one of New Zealand’s most respected agricultural machinery groups.

You’ll be accountable for driving commercial results, ensuring operational discipline, and shaping a customer-first culture across the team.

Leading sales, service, parts, and admin, you’ll focus on growing revenue and market share, maintaining profitability, and strengthening long-term relationships across the Canterbury farming, horticulture, and contracting communities.

Your leadership will be visible and influential by impacting performance, team culture, and customer loyalty every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales, growth, and profitability targets
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and full P&L responsibility
  • Maintain inventory control and operational efficiency
  • Lead a safety-first, compliant branch environment
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a capable, motivated team
  • Represent the business as a visible leader in the local rural community

About You

  • Proven experience leading multi-functional teams
  • Strong dealership, branch, or commercial leadership experience
  • Solid financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L ownership
  • Confidence using CRM and operating systems to inform decisions
  • Commercial judgment and understanding of sales cycles
  • Exposure to agricultural machinery, aftermarket, or service operations highly advantageous
